Indian space technology startup Pixxel has raised $100 million in Series C funding, led by Singapore’s Temasek and UK’s Seraphim Space Investment Trust. Reuters reports that this is the largest funding round for an Indian space-tech company, taking Pixxel’s total funding to $195 million.
Pixxel began with hyperspectral satellites and has expanded into Earth-intelligence software and satellite systems through its Aurora platform.
What changed: Indian space startups are attracting increasingly large private investments and moving from hardware toward data and software-driven space services.
Why it matters: Satellite data can support agriculture, climate monitoring, defense, infrastructure planning and disaster response.
Practical takeaway: India’s technology ecosystem isn’t limited to AI and software. Space + data + AI is becoming an important technology opportunity.
